The role
ALS Geochemistry is seeking a Quality Officer to join our Kalgoorlie Quality team.
This is a full-time position based in Kalgoorlie. You will investigate and manage quality issues, support root cause analysis, and contribute to corrective actions.
You must reside or plan to relocate to the Kalgoorlie Boulder Region and have current Australian work rights.
Key responsibilities include:
* Ensuring adherence to ISO9001 and/or ISO 17025 standards
* Investigating laboratory quality issues
* Organizing equipment calibration verifications
* Preparing for and conducting system and method audits
* Monitoring and sustaining statistical quality control systems
* Generating and reviewing data, addressing issues, and reducing failures
* Ensuring compliance with changes and new QWI
* Training laboratory staff to ensure quality and competency

The day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Adhering to ISO9001 and ISO 17025 standards
* Investigating laboratory quality issues
* Performing equipment calibration verifications
* Conducting system and method audits
* Monitoring statistical quality control of laboratory data
* Participating in Focus Groups
* Reviewing data and working on reducing failures
* Ensuring compliance with changes and new QWI
* Training staff on quality and competency
The essentials
* Practical laboratory experience with a focus on quality
* Good numeracy skills
* Analytical problem-solving skills based on evidence
* Self-motivation and ability to complete tasks timely
* Knowledge of ISO9001 and ISO 17025 requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
* Strong communication skills
* Training or experience in Quality Assurance is advantageous
