Looking for an experienced HR Consultant. Short term contract, Government experience required and a great challenge
A Government organisation is currently seeking an experienced and skilled HR Consultant to join their team. As an HR Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality HR support and advice to the department and its employees.
Key Responsibilities:
- Providing expert advice and guidance on all HR-related matters, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, and policy development.
- Developing and implementing effective HR strategies and policies that align with the government's overall goals and objectives.
- Working closely with departmental managers and staff to ensure compliance with HR policies and procedures.
- Supporting the recruitment and selection process by advising on job descriptions, interview techniques, and selection criteria.
- Managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Ensuring that all HR policies and procedures are up to date and in line with relevant legislation and best practice.
- Developing and delivering training programs for managers and staff on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Key Criteria:
- A bachelor's degree in human resource management or a related field.
- Proven experience as an HR Consultant or similar role, preferably in a government or public sector organization.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with managers and staff at all levels.
- Experience in managing complex employee relations cases, including disciplinary and grievance procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines.
