Job Description
Quick overview of the role
Working as part of the team in our Thornton branch, you will operate machinery, produce goods, prepare and build loads and ensure that all loads are quality inspected and tagged while committing to your safety and that of the team. You will receive thorough training and support to learn all aspects of the Operator role, and any future career development opportunities within the business. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity working the day shift.
Key Responsibilities
* Safe unloading of goods and materials & ensuring accuracy of receipt documentation.
* Operatemachinery, plant, and equipment in a safe manner and in accordance with company procedures.
* Producemanufactured goods in accordance with specifications.
* Pick and packof sales orders in accordance with order requirements, company procedures and nominated work plan.
* Conductpre-start checks on plant, equipment, and machinery before use.
* Maintaina high standard of housekeeping at all times.
* Communicatewith other staff in an effective manner to ensure a productive, cost effective & safe worksite.
* Safe loading of vehicles within Safe Loading Guidelines and Chain of Responsibility legislation.
* Complete relevant documentation correctly & accurately.

* Physically fit and able to operate machinery.
* A commitment to the safety and well-being of yourself and others.
* A positive attitude and willingness to learn new things.
* Overhead Gantry Crane experience.
* Driver's license.
* Steel machine experience highly desirable.
