Lead Procurement & Inventory Across a High-Performing Multi-Branch Operation


Watters Electrical is one of regional Victoria and Southern NSW's largest and most respected electrical contractors. With over 65 years of success and a strong presence in the Health, Education, Industrial, and Government sectors, we are seeking a dynamic and strategic Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory Manager to oversee our procurement and inventory operations across Shepparton, Albury, and Wangaratta.

This is a newly created pivotal leadership role for a skilled professional who thrives in a fast-paced, trade-focused environment and is ready to take ownership of the procurement lifecycle — from supplier engagement to stock strategy and inventory systems.


The Role


Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for the effective management of all inventory, purchasing, and supplier functions across our three branches. Key responsibilities include:

* Leading and managing store staff at each location, ensuring effective stock control, team alignment, and inventory movement across branches
* Overseeing all purchasing activities for materials, equipment, and services, in line with project and operational needs
* Developing and executing a procurement and pricing strategy to maximise purchasing efficiency, control spend, and monitor supplier performance
* Managing supplier relationships and negotiations, including terms of trade, pricing agreements, and service level expectations
* Ensuring alignment of suppliers to reduce risk, improve consistency, and secure advantageous commercial terms
* Leading all stocktake processes (cyclic and annual), including preparation, execution, and reconciliation
* Maintaining and updating the company's inventory catalogue and pricing structures
* Managing the return of goods and materials to suppliers, including credit processing and warranty claims


What You Bring

* Proven experience and/or formal training in procurement, inventory, or supply chain management — ideally in the electrical, construction, or trade services industries
* Strong negotiation, supplier management, and commercial acumen
* Excellent leadership and team coordination skills with demonstrated experience managing teams across multiple locations
* A process-driven mindset with a hands-on approach to systems, stock control, and warehouse operations
* High-level proficiency with inventory software (e.g., simPRO, or equivalent) and Microsoft Office
* Ability to work across multiple sites and foster consistent operational standards
