Delivering good energy starts from within
It’s an exciting time to join Origin. Creating a great place to work means together we’re progressing our ambition to lead the energy transition through cleaner energy and customer solutions. We’re always looking for better ways to deliver for our customers – and for our people.
About the Role
The Material Coordinator ensures materials are available to support safe, on-time, and on-budget execution of work.
In this pivotal role, you’ll make sure inventory is in the right place at the right time—and in fit-for-use condition—to minimise delays to maintenance and construction schedules. You'll also contribute to inventory optimisation by leveraging planning tools and promoting the effective repair and reuse of materials, all while maintaining a strong focus on safety and cost efficiency.
More about the role
* Procure spares for critical break-in work and emergent scope
* Manage material allocations in alignment with construction and maintenance schedules
* Work with teams across Asset Services and the field to understand material needs, create forecasts, and schedule materials in the ERP system to ensure inventory aligns with maintenance plans, project timelines, and budgets.
* Schedule and expedite deliveries to meet required project timeframes
* Maintain open communication with stakeholders across the Warehouse and Logistics Teams, Engineering, Maintenance, Projects, and Suppliers to ensure alignment on material availability and usage.
* Ensure accuracy of material data in ERP systems and generate reports on material status, usage, and forecast trends to support planning and decision-making.
* Responsible for initiating and supporting new inventory cataloguing requests through the MDO system
* Manage the total lifecycle of materials from Cataloguing through to Slow-Moving and Obsolescence reviews, including material optimisation and disposals
* Resolve delivery non-conformances and supplier invoice issues
* Facilitate the refurbishment and reuse of repairable materials
* Identify opportunities to improve material management processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
About you
* You bring solid experience in inventory management, ideally within the Oil and Gas industry, and have hands-on knowledge of SAP S/4HANA ERP systems.
* You're confident leading cross-functional forums with stakeholders to tackle material shortages, assess supplier forecasts, and manage supply risks.
* Your strong communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a collaborative team mindset, enable you to contribute effectively to practical solutions. You consistently seek ways to improve processes and strengthen supply chain resilience.
