Account executive

Newcastle
The Creative Collective
Chief Accounting Officer

Offer description

Newcastle NSW - Office and Remote expectations (Hybrid) Full-time | 2+ Years Agency Experience

The Creative Collective is looking for an ambitious, agile and organised Account Executive to join our award-winning agency team.

This role is ideal for someone early in their agency career who is ready to step up, take ownership and play a key role in keeping client projects running smoothly without constant direction.

It will suit someone who wants to build a long-term career in agency life and is motivated to grow into an all rounder Account Manager.

You'll work across a diverse portfolio of clients and marketing channels, coordinating specialists across social media, paid advertising, SEO, content, design and web.

You'll often be the day-to-day contact for clients, helping ensure work progresses on time, communication stays clear, and opportunities to improve performance are identified.

You'll be comfortable working autonomously and confident in your ability to perform at a high level while managing competing priorities, without assistance if required.

You won't be expected to know everything on day one, but you will be supported to learn across multiple areas of digital marketing while helping keep projects running smoothly.

Agency life can be fast-paced and varied, so we're looking for someone who enjoys momentum, takes initiative and can keep multiple projects moving whilst balancing priorities and adapting as things evolve.

What We're Looking For

You're likely a marketing generalist early in your career, perhaps currently working as an Account Executive, Marketing Coordinator or Junior Account Manager.

Preference for Newcastle or Sunshine Coast basedhowever open to a remote worker within Australia, with the ability to attend in-person team gatherings and client meetings in our locality, for the right candidate.

While you may not be "on the tools" every day, you're comfortable speaking the language of digital marketing and coordinating with specialists across areas such as SEO, paid media, social media, content, design and web.

You enjoy being organised, proactive and responsive, and you're someone who takes pride in keeping projects moving and clients informed.

You're also someone who naturally looks for solutions rather than waiting to be told what to do next, and who enjoys being part of a collaborative team environment.

Curiosity, initiative and follow-through matter more than perfection.

Key Responsibilities
* Support the management of a variety of marketing projects and client retainers
* Build positive and professional client relationships through clear communication
* Assist with scopes, timelines and budgets, helping ensure projects stay on track
* Coordinate internal and external delivery teams to ensure consistent output
* Prepare updates, reports and meeting notes for clients and internal teams
* Help identify opportunities to improve results and grow client accounts
* Contribute ideas and improvements to strengthen agency operations
* Support the sales process by assisting with proposals or qualifying inbound enquiries when required
What You'll Bring
* 2+years of experience in a digital, creative or marketing agency, or similar environment
* Confidence managing tasks across multiple clients and deadlines
* Basic familiarity with digital marketing services such as paid social, Google Ads, SEO or content marketing
* Strong written, verbal and virtual communication skills
* A proactive mindset and willingness to learn
* A natural sense of ownership and accountability

Bonus points for experience with: Google Suite, ActiveCampaign, Canva, Teamwork, SEMrush, Agency Analytics, Loomly, or Xero.

Why The Creative Collective?

We're a female-led full service marketing agency working with clients across Australia, from growing businesses to large organisations and government bodies.

Our team operates across Sunshine Coast, Newcastle and nationally, combining the flexibility of hybrid work with strong collaboration and support.

You'll gain exposure to a wide variety of clients, industries and marketing channels while working alongside experienced specialists in SEO, paid media, PR, content, design and strategy.

This is an opportunity to accelerate your agency career in a team that values initiative, curiosity and high standards.

* Professional development allowance
* Retention and performance bonuses
* Supportive leadership, clear career progression, and recognition for your work
* A strong salary package tailored to your experience and potential.
