About Us
At SIRA (the State Insurance Regulatory Authority) we regulate motor accidents CTP insurance, workers compensation insurance and the homebuilding compensation scheme in NSW.
This role is in the Insurance Markets and Premium Design team of the Scheme Design (CTP, Premiums & Markets) directorate. A dynamic and interesting team that tackles big picture questions about the future of the NSW. We work across scheme design issues and provide strategic advice to the executive.

Your responsibilities will include:
* Undertaking research, analysis and review of complex scheme design issues to develop evidence-based options and recommended solutions to resolve problems and mitigate risks.
* Leading the preparation of expert advice and information for stakeholders.
Communicating with key stakeholders, drafting correspondence and coordinating stakeholder consultations.
* Providing project leadership for scheme initiatives.
* Working with internal and external stakeholders to inform and develop scheme design initiatives.
* Contributing to the work of the broader scheme design team as needed.
* Mentoring and guiding scheme design advisors to successfully deliver priorities and initiatives.

About you:
Our ideal candidate is someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills in a complex policy & design environment. Someone who can apply their skills and experience to the strategic regulatory design of the statutory insurance schemes.
If you enjoy learning about new things and solving interesting problems, then this is the job for you.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and equivalent experiences in government regulation, public policy analysis or economic regulation are essential for this role.
* An analytical thinker who can critically review information and think outside the box to solve complex problems.
* Highly organised, with skills in research, writing, personal initiative and attention to detail.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* A thorough understanding of public policy including policy development, implementation, evaluation and comfort with working with legislation.
* A great team player with a positive outlook who wants to be a part of a supportive and engaged team.
* Ability to operate effectively in a complex, sensitive and changing environment and work across multiple tasks.
* An interest in and curiosity about personal injury schemes, and/or experience in a policy, design or personal injury background.
