Your Hobart Doctor is a well-established, patient-focused general practice located in Hobart. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Practice Nurse to join our friendly, supportive team on a full-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in a busy GP setting and values high-quality, patient-centred care.
About the Role
As a Practice Nurse, you will work closely with our GPs and practice team to support high-quality clinical care across general practice and skin cancer services. The role includes treatment room duties, chronic disease management, preventative health, and assisting with skin cancer consultations and procedures. Please read our Core Values on our website.
Key Responsibilities
* Treatment room duties including wound care, immunisations, injections, ECGs and venepuncture
* Assisting with skin cancer checks, biopsies and minor procedures, including preparation and post-procedure care
* Wound management and follow-up care for skin excisions
* Chronic Disease Management plans and health assessments
* Assisting with care plans, recalls and preventative health activities
* Infection control, sterilisation and stock management
* Supporting doctors during clinical and skin procedures
* Accurate clinical documentation and patient education
* Assist Triage nurse in Urgent Care when needed.
About You
* Current AHPRA registration as an EN or RN
* Experience in general practice; skin cancer nursing experience desirable but not essential
* Strong clinical skills and attention to detail
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Experience with Best Practice or similar clinical software (desirable)
* Team Player that is prepared to help.
