We are currently seeking an experienced and reliable Machine Operator to join our Hope Valley team. The successful candidate will primarily operate an Excavator feeding the Picking Station and Screening Plant, while also providing Loader operation and plant coverage across the site as required.
Shift Details
* Monday to Friday - 7:00am – 4:00pm; Saturdays when required
* Casual position with view to permanent employment for the right candidate
* Immediate start available
About the Role
This is a hands‐on role operating machinery within a busy waste and resource recovery facility. You will be responsible for safely and efficiently moving, sorting, and processing materials while working closely with the wider operations team.
Key Responsibilities
* Operating Excavators fitted with grabs and bucket attachments
* Feeding the Picking Station and Screening Plant
* Maintaining consistent material flow to maximise production
* Operating Loaders as required
* Assisting with plant and equipment coverage across the site
* Loading, sorting, and moving recyclable materials
* Conducting daily pre‐start inspections, greasing, and basic preventative maintenance of plant and equipment
* Identifying and reporting equipment faults or maintenance issues
* Following site procedures and safety requirements
* Assisting with general operational duties as required
* Working collaboratively with supervisors and fellow operators
What We're Looking For
Essential
* Current Driver's Licence and reliable vehicle
* Experience operating both Excavators and Loaders
* Experience operating Excavators fitted with grabs
* Waste and recycling industry experience
* Ability to work safely in a fast‐paced operational environment
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* Reliable attendance and punctuality

* Experience feeding Screening Plants
