Job Description: The Chocolate Factory is after a star HSE Technician! Responsible for the Ballarat Sites development, management and execution of Health, Safety and Environmental compliance programs.As the HSE Technician you will become an integral link between factory associates and factory management to foster a culture where safety, health & environment is paramount, and delivering site-based plans in a collaborative way. Reporting into the HSE Manager, you will work alongside your HSE colleagues demonstrating your capability in confidently coaching, leading and adhering to required standards and continuously improving the safety performance & culture.
Please note: this is a 12 month contract position What are we looking for?Relevant degree in OH&S or equivalent experience in a similar OH&S or Environment roleWorking within Manufacturing or FMCG is preferrableStrong safety regulatory knowledge and expertiseExperience & knowledge of Environmental Protection Authority (preferred)Ability to interact with site level manufacturing/business management, community, elected officials and non-government organisations as well as state and federal regulatory agencies.Capable of navigating various internal platforms (Power BI, digital forms, Enablon)Effective influencing and communication to ensure all associates understand the importance of safety and any changes that occur.What will be your key responsibilities?Drive and participate in projects aimed at lowering risks associated with Health & SafetyEnsure the Ballarat site maintains continuous 'audit ready' state of compliance with company, insurance and governmental HSE StandardsResponsible for the development and deployment of all Company HSE Standards as they specifically apply to the siteMaintain the onsite environmental manuals and update these according to Mars standard and scheduleEnsure compliance for the management of hazardous materials and wastes in accordance with DG regulationsDeliver consistent training and coaching to establish clear understanding by all site associates on HSE expectationsUse a data driven approach to manage, modify and prioritise site HSE direction. Share and utilise this data to influence, motivate, measure and drive continuous improvement across the Ballarat siteDevelop, deliver and participate in risk reduction reviews of process hazards and combustible dusts.Lead site efforts to measure and improve Industrial Hygiene Risk in conjunction with Health Services.
