Key Responsibilities:
* Perform specimen reception duties at the Royal Children's Hospital laboratory and Royal Women's Hospital laboratory as required by the rotational roster.
* Operate, maintain, and report malfunction of automated equipment/instrumentation under supervision of scientific staff.
* Enter data and register patient details on the Laboratory Information System (LIS) to a high level of efficiency and accuracy.
* Attend training provided by hospital, as directed by senior staff.
* Complete tasks in accordance with Departmental and Organisational policies and procedures.
About This Role
This part-time position involves processing specimens for Pathology Laboratory testing. Maintaining accurate records and data entry is also crucial. The successful candidate will contribute to the smooth operation of the laboratory.
Qualifications and Skills
* Certificate or Associate Diploma of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory), Certificate, Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Laboratory Technology or Laboratory Operations or equivalent.
* Previous experience performing specimen processing in a diagnostic laboratory is desirable.
* Previous experience performing data entry in a diagnostic laboratory is desirable.
