GRES has a proven track record of delivering projects in over 20 countries for a vast range of commodities, with over 800 employees across Australia.We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Mechanical Engineer with a background in mineral processing to lead a multi-disciplined project team in our Ascot office.This is an exciting time to join GRES as we are experiencing significant growth, providing great opportunities for your development.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules, including technical direction and coordination.Assisting lead designers in developing layouts and conceptual designs.Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations.Conducting technical reviews of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation.Preparing and reviewing data sheets, scopes, and tender evaluations for equipment procurement.Managing internal and client design reviews, resolving outcomes, and working in a client-facing role.Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards.Ensuring designs are fit for purpose, considering cost, constructability, operability, and maintainability.Supporting site construction activities remotely.Collaborating with commissioning teams on site.Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, recognized by Engineers Australia.Minimum of 10 years of technical and practical experience in designing, constructing, and commissioning mineral processing plants.Knowledge and practical application of design principles, including sizing conveyors, pumps, and equipment typical in mineral processing.Ability to develop conceptual layouts and detailed designs and drawings.Knowledge of current engineering standards and practices.Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.Proficiency with engineering software, including Excel, Word, and 3D viewing tools.Experience with both wet and dry mineral processing plants.Hands-on leadership skills, comfortable leading a multi-skilled project team.What’s on OfferAt GRES, we offer a rewarding environment where your knowledge and experience are valued.
