Gunn Agri Partners adopts an industry-leading framework that integrates sustainability in the design and delivery of its strategies and a mandate to transparently report against investor’s target outcomes.Gunn Agri Partners manages $1.05B of assets and commitments across 5 agricultural platforms.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Ecologist who will lead the ecology work stream with a focus on the Environmental Plantings program across our operating platforms, ensuring each project aligns with biodiversity restoration, carbon outcome targets, and agricultural productivity. The successful candidate will conduct feasibility assessments, or they will coordinate third party ecologist to conduct the necessary due diligence, engage and work closely with the General Managers to integrate planting activities.Key ResponsibilitiesLeading ecological services for the environment services programDevelop and run ecological assessment and monitoring frameworks; perform initial site assessments and coordinate third-party ecological audits.Coordinate internal restoration teams and external contractors.Partner with the Agricultural Operations Manager and General Managers to synchronise planting activities and other on farm operations.2. Ecological Restoration & ImplementationConduct field-based surveys, including vegetation identification and ecological mapping for project feasibility and property due diligenceDevelop and execute site specific native vegetation restoration plans:o Site preparation and planting methodologieso Ongoing monitoring, maintenance, and adaptive managementSupport farm managers in adopting integrated biodiversity management best practices.3. Process Improvement & InnovationMonitor emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices in restoration ecology.Identify and implement opportunities to enhance efficiency and outcomes in environmental planting programs.4. Reporting & CompliancePrepare detailed reports, project documentation, and presentations on restoration progress and outcomes in line with Gunn Agri Partners project reporting frameworksEnsure compliance with biodiversity, carbon project standards, and framework requirements whilst mitigating risks associated with the projectWhat You’ll BringRelevant Academic BackgroundA bachelor’s degree in Ecology and/or Botany, providing a strong scientific foundation for understanding plant systems, habitat dynamics, and ecological restoration.Ecological ExpertiseDeep knowledge of native vegetation, species habitat requirements, and proven methods for revegetation and restoration planning.Project and Technical CapabilityDemonstrated success in managing complex, multi-site projects—including budgeting, scheduling, fieldwork, GIS mapping, and technical reporting.Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, working with contractors, and embedding biodiversity practices into commercial farming operations.Regulatory and Strategic AcumenA thorough understanding of environmental regulations, carbon frameworks, and biodiversity standards, with the ability to translate ecological data into clear, actionable strategies.Why Join Us?At Gunn Agri Partners, you’re not just taking a job—you’re joining a movement.
