The Opportunity
As we expand the team, you’ll work closely with a diverse, high-performing team that embodies our core values and fuels our success as a Senior Medium-Term Mine Planning Engineer at St Ives.
Reporting to the Superintendent: Mine Planning, you will facilitate the optimal extraction of gold ore through comprehensive underground mine planning, design, evaluation, and scheduling that drives the success of our operation.

What You’ll Do
* Ensure the business can make informed decisions by identifying, planning, and communicating extraction strategies, critical path, and high-risk areas as part of an iterative scenario planning process.
* Create, support, and manage underground short- to medium-term mine design, scheduling, and evaluation work, including the design of all aspects of an underground mine, such as ventilation, backfill, and other infrastructure.
* Lead and mentor the team to add further value to the Technical Services team.
* Role model our core values and create a culture where every team member feels seen, supported, and valued.
What You’ll Bring
* First Class Mine Managers Certificate of Competency is desirable.
* High level of skills displayed in Deswik CAD, Deswik SO and Deswik IS.
* Extensive underground mining experience in production, ventilation, projects, paste fill, planning and scheduling
