The Marketing and PR Manager will be responsible for delivering the PR & Brand Marketing Strategy, by developing an overarching communication strategy that ensures consumers, merchants and partners gain a consistent comprehension of our business and products through marketing and PR initiatives. This role will include communication/narrative development, integrated marketing campaigns, PR media strategy, thought-leadership, and brand-building programs. To thrive in this role, you must be customer obsessed. Despite working with multiple stakeholders internally and externally, in this role, you are the champion of the end user, and always represent the voice of the consumer.
This role is a **full-time 12 month maximum term contract.**
**Key responsibilities**:
- In partnership with the Head of Marketing, lead and execute our Consumer Marketing and PR Communication strategies
- Collaborate with B2B marketing manager, sales team, and product teams to ensure consistency in brand and messaging cross channel
- Collaborate with merchant success and bank delivery teams to drive customer adoption of Slyp
- Own and execute overarching communication strategy to ensure consumers, merchants and partners have a consistent comprehension of our business and products
- Manage proactive and reactive media relations by building strategic relationships across key media, journalist, and industry groups
- Partner with our executive leadership team to identify thought leadership platforms and opportunities
**Requirements**:
- At least 5 years' experience, and comfort in owning end-to-end external communications for a technology, retail and/or high-growth business
- Proven experience developing and executing an overarching communications strategy
- Extensive experience in PR or brand marketing, with experience in either start-up tech products, consumer brands, retail or two-sided marketplaces
- Hands-on experience managing a variety of communications scenarios, including retail campaigns, feature launches, proactive and brand PR, and storytelling
- You're a creative problem solver and always work with a solution-focused mindset
- Proven ability to build multi-channel communications programs for brand, reputation and product launches that deliver high-impact business results and instil a sense of pride for our Slypsters
- Demonstrated ability to execute marketing and brand campaigns that deliver engagement, awareness and results
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to individually contribute and provide expert technical advice when required
