About the Role
Our client is a young, fast-growing civil and electrical construction company based in Kurnell, Sydney NSW.
They are seeking an experienced and motivatedCivil Estimatorto support tendering and pre-construction operations.
This role offers an opportunity to shape the commercial performance of future projects.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for:
High-voltage power cable installations
Substations and electrical infrastructure
Civil construction works including earthworks, concrete, trenching, and drainage
Review and interpret drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
Conduct quantity take-offs and develop Bills of Quantities (BOQs)
Analyse labour, plant, material, and subcontractor costs
Source, assess, and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotes
Identify project risks and prepare contingency allowances
Assist in developing tender submissions and pricing strategies
Maintain and update company estimating databases and costing models
Participate in post-tender reviews and support handover processes
Key Skills and Experience
Proven experience as a Civil Estimator within the infrastructure or construction sectors
Prior exposure to high-voltage electrical works and substations (highly desirable)
Strong capability in reading and interpreting technical drawings
Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to manage multiple tenders independently while meeting deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to add value to the estimating function
