As a System Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for applying safety engineering principles throughout the project lifecycle. You'll facilitate hazard analysis workshops, develop and manage system safety deliverables such as System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Logs, and Safety Case Reports, and liaise directly with internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance and assurance.
This role involves supporting emerging projects and software tools, training internal personnel, and driving process consistency across the organization. You'll contribute to ABMS (Asset and Business Management System) updates and help embed safety thinking into all phases of design and engineering.
The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in systems engineering or a related field, with demonstrated experience applying MIL-STD-882E or equivalent frameworks. You'll bring strong stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills, and ideally have experience in defence acquisition, sustainment, or working within a classification society or seaworthiness framework.
You will have proven capability in hazard identification, workshop delivery, and systems documentation. Your ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively across technical teams will be essential. A BASELINE security clearance is required for this position.
