About the Role
We have an opportunity for a part time (3 days per week) Financial Controller to join our team in our Bundall Head Office. Reporting to the MD, your key focus areas involve reporting, project costing, business analysis, and stakeholder engagement across the wider business.
Your main responsibilities will include:
* Own month-end close (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and compliance with statutory reporting, BAS, fbt, taxation and audit processes.
* Develop and maintain financial models and forecasts to support strategic business decisions and drive organizational growth.
* Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including stock analysis, trend analysis, and profitability analysis, to identify areas for improvement and provide recommendations.
* Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather relevant data and insights for financial modelling and analysis purposes.
* Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
* Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and insights to senior management and key stakeholders.
* In conjunction with the COO, drive the budgeting and planning process, providing financial guidance and support to various departments.
* Evaluate and optimize internal controls and financial processes to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
* Oversee AP and AR, drive efficiencies and DSO.
* Manage banking relationships including debt servicing and transaction banking.
Skills and Experience
* Ideally experience in simPRO and XERO
* Strong excel skills
* Accounting and CPA/CA qualification
* Strong communication skills, with experience translating financial data into business insights
* Detail-oriented with big picture lens
* Self-motivated with a desire to constantly improve and present high-quality work
* Collaborative attitude and able to support other team members
