The Southern Public Bar and Bistro is a new local favourite in Phillip. We are looking to expand our team of high calibre chefs. We are open for lunch and dinner, seven days a week. It is crucial that you are able to work at varied hours including nights and weekends.
Who we are looking for?
* Individuals with strong work ethic and positive attitude.
* At least one year experience in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen.
* Relevant qualification in cookery or culinary arts.
You should be able to demonstrate:
* Previous experience in a similar restaurant position.
* Creative in designing menus.
* Good culinary skills.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Be honest and reliable.
* Knowledge of WHS and food hygiene requirements.
Job duties:
* Assist in creating, planning, and improving menus.
* Order and maintain inventory of food and kitchen supplies, ensuring it meets daily production needs.
* Prepare and cook food according to recipes and monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
* Manage and train Cooks and Kitchenhands in food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety.
* Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient food service.
* Ensures compliance with hygiene, health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
