About Us
Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CECG) plays an integral role in education in the ACT and NSW, operating 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). The Catholic Education Office (CEO) provides corporate services to Schools and ELCs. The CEO provides corporate services to the CECG system of Schools and ELCs. These Service Areas include: Education and Performance Improvement, Catholic Identity, School and Family Services, Strategy and Special Projects, Finance and Infrastructure, Information and Communication Technology and People and Culture.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide paralegal and administrative support to the General Counsel, Catholic Education. The environment is fast-paced, and the team is responsible for covering a broad spectrum of issues including child protection, employment law, commercial transactions, litigation and advice.
Key responsibilities include:
Research legislation and case law.
Review contracts and identify salient issues.
Process information requests in accordance with the Privacy Act ****.
Draft correspondence, including legal documents.
Review documents for the purpose of identifying legal issues.
Prepare case summaries.
File preparation and document management.
Lodge documents with courts and tribunals.
Assist with subpoenas.

Qualifications
Currently studying Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor.
ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) and NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) registrations.
Current Driver's Licence.
