About the Role
* We are seeking an experienced Relief Chef/Cook to join our team on a permanent part-time basis, working 32 hours per fortnight with some flexibility to cover weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
* To maintain smooth kitchen operations, oversee daily tasks, and ensure efficient food preparation and presentation.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, adhering to all relevant health and safety protocols.
* Collaborate with the cooking team to prepare and serve nutritious meals that meet the needs of our patients, residents, and clients.
* Ensure all food safety protocols are followed, maintaining accurate records as required.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a commercial kitchen is essential, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality dishes and exceptional customer service.
* A Food Handler's certificate or equivalent is a must-have qualification for this role.
* Availability to work full shifts from 9:00am to 5:30pm, including some weekends and public holidays.
* Ability to motivate and lead the cooking team, fostering a positive and productive kitchen environment.
* Passion for food presentation and attention to detail, ensuring every dish meets our high standards.
* Effective communication skills to work collaboratively with others, building strong relationships within the team.
Qualifications and Certificates
* A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent experience is preferred.
* A Food Safety Supervisor Certificate is a desirable asset for this role, or willingness to obtain one.
* Current vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
