Key Responsibilities
● Planning menus in collaboration with management and estimating food and labour costs.
● Ordering food supplies and managing inventory effectively.
● Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
● Discussing food preparation and service details with managers, dietitians, kitchen, and wait staff.
● Demonstrating cooking techniques and advising on procedures to kitchen staff.
● Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes.
● Explaining and enforcing hygiene, food safety, and occupational health regulations.
● Selecting and training kitchen staff as needed.
● Freezing and preserving food as part of stock management.
Skills & Experience Required
● Proven experience as a Chef (minimum of 1 year preferred)
● Formal culinary training or relevant certifications are highly regarded
● Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality output
● Excellent communication and teamwork skills
● Willingness to learn and adapt to new cooking methods, menu variations, and kitchen technology
