Role Description
This is a 3 month contract role for a Writer/Researcher with a view to make the role permanent. You will take first draft scripts, usually around 3,500 to 6,000 words, chock full of historical information and turn them into a well-crafted narrative. You will need to use your strong narrative storytelling skills to find the story and communicate it in a compelling way, fact-checking as you go and ensuring the finished script is camera-ready. Responsibilities include writing clear and engaging content, fact-checking information, collaborating with researchers, animators and editors and ensuring the final script is as strong as possible. This hybrid role is based in Abbotsford, VIC, with the flexibility to work partially from home.
About You
You're a passionate storyteller who can find the story and communicate it in an exciting way. You don't necessarily need to have experience working in digital production but rather can demonstrate your strong storytelling skills for non-fiction subjects; history, politics, science and the like. You can bring these topics to life in an exciting way with your storytelling.
Qualifications
* Exceptional Writing and Storytelling skills, including the ability to craft engaging narratives and clear content
* Advanced Research and Fact-Checking skills to ensure the accuracy and quality of content
* Ability to collaborate effectively with production teams and work to deadlines
* Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
* Experience in media production or digital content creation is a bonus - but not required
