The Data Insights and Performance Lead will play a critical role in the strategic analysis, planning and management activities within the SprayLine Road Services group. This position will directly report to the Business Optimisation Manager and be a part of a team focused on providing analytical derived recommendations to SprayLine Road Services to ensure operational success.

**About the team**
SprayLine Road Services is an internal delivery team within the Department of Transport providing road maintenance services, construction and associated civil works, bituminous spray sealing and line marking to DoT, other state road authorities, municipal councils, and private industry. SprayLine Road Services delivers services locally within the communities and are committed to ensuring quality, innovative and sustainable outcomes.
**About the Role**
The Data Insights and Performance Lead will play a critical role in the strategic analysis, planning and management activities within the SprayLine Road Services group. This position will directly report to the Business Optimisation Manager and be a part of a team focused on providing analytical derived recommendations to SprayLine Road Services to ensure operational success.
Essentially the role requires the Data Insights and Performance Lead to:
- Adhere to and comply with the governance established by DoT and the business area and ensure traceability, accuracy and completeness of outcomes produced. 
- Oversee financial management activities to ensure the ongoing financial health of the business and provide advice to management on opportunities to make financial improvements through efficiency measures. 
- Be highly organised and consultative, combining high levels of analytical skills (in terms of information, processes, models, and frameworks) with astute people skills in order to engage internal and external clients and align solutions to business concerns and problems. This will include the development and presentation of business cases, solution options and business requirements for senior stakeholders and clients. 
- Analyse critical business processes that may benefit from process or system improvements, enabling DoT to achieve efficiencies and service improvements. 
- Provide input into business area needs and requirements for information systems and actively contribute to their successful implementation across SprayLine Road Services. 
- Work with and interrogate multiple systems and use reporting management tools to extract and analyse data from systems such as Asset Vision, Trimble, Oracle, Zycus, Connect and iAuditor.
**Key Accountabilities** 
- Ensuring appropriate governance and control mechanisms are available and measurable to achieve successful service delivery and support for planning activities. 
- Perform forecasting, monitoring, and management of business finances to optimise business performance, identifying potential improvement opportunities and management of financial issues. 
- Perform comprehensive analysis of business outcomes with a focus on providing data informed recommendations to business leaders. 
- Influence stakeholders in providing innovative thinking and analysis that lead to sustained business improvement outcomes. 
- Sound understanding of key business processes with the ability to undertake needs analysis, business modelling and present recommendations for process improvement opportunities. 
- Conduct research along with strategic and technical insights to understand business requirements across DoT systems and make recommendations on adoption or the exploration of new technologies. 
- The Data Insights and Performance Manager (VRMC) has provided effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Mandatory** 
- Minimum 5 years financial management experience 
- Minimum 2 years report development experience 
- Minimum 5 years data analytics experience 
- Drivers Licence
**Desirable** 
- Relevant tertiary qualification or experience. 
- Construction induction card.
