Southern Stay is a proud, accredited not-for-profit disability support organisation serving Southwest Victoria since 1982. With a workforce of around 300 dedicated staff, supported by a Board of Directors, we deliver high-quality, person-centred services to more than 700 people with disabilities and their families across Warrnambool, Hamilton, Portland, and surrounding communities.

About the Human Resources Manager
Based in Warrnambool or Hamilton, the Human Resources Manager provides strategic and operational leadership of Southern Stay's people and culture function across multiple regional locations.
Reporting to the General Manager, People & Client Engagement, this senior leadership role is responsible for leading the full employee lifecycle and delivering contemporary, compliant, and values-aligned HR practices across a diverse workforce operating under the SCHADS Award. The role partners closely with senior leaders and managers to shape workforce strategy, strengthen organisational culture, and ensure compliance with employment legislation, NDIS Practice Standards, and Child Safety Standards.
This position plays a critical role in building leadership capability across the organisation, supporting managers to lead confidently and consistently, and ensuring Southern Stay remains an employer of choice within the disability and community services sector.
Who Are We Looking For?
You are a values-driven HR leader with experience managing people across complex, multi-site environments. You bring strategic insight and hands-on capability, providing trusted guidance to leaders on workforce development, talent management, and organisational capability.
You are passionate about learning and continuous improvement, with demonstrated experience designing and implementing professional development programs, leadership initiatives, and succession planning. You are skilled in performance management, coaching, and mentoring, while ensuring compliance with the SCHADS Award, Fair Work legislation, and regulatory requirements.
Your collaborative and pragmatic leadership style, strong organisational skills, and solutions-focused approach enable you to build relationships across all levels and role-model Southern Stay's values of Participant Focus, Empowerment, Respect, Inclusion, and Learning.
Ideally, you hold tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Organisational Development, or a related discipline, and bring experience within the disability, health, community services, or not-for-profit sector.
