Our client is a leader in the minerals technologies industry with ambitious plans to revolutionise mineral processing using sustainable methods.
As they expand their operations with new pilot plants and further innovation, they are seeking a skilled Process Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges and optimising production processes.
This person will be responsible for analysing existing processes, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing solutions that enhance productivity and quality while minimising costs and environmental impact.
Another key component of the role will be designing and comissioning pilot plants and leading projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analysis of current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement innovative solutions to optimise process performance, including throughput, yield, and energy efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and R&D; to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Utilise statistical tools and data analysis techniques to monitor process performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence and meet production targets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mineral Processing, Metallurgical Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in process optimisation and problem solving in a technical field, especially in R&D.;
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Previous experience in project management in a leadership capacity.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering or similar field.
- Experience with process control systems and automation.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
