About the Role: This is for a Mental Health Peer Worker who will be based in Bondi Junction. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Support Worker to join our newly established Medicare Mental Health Centre in Bondi Junction. In this role, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of trauma-informed specialist counsellors, delivering high-quality mental health support to the local community. To work with us, you have a positive, authentic, inclusive personality which you bring to work with you every day! About You: Minimum Cert IV in Mental Health, Peer Work, or a relevant qualification. Minimum 12 months experience working in a similar program. Valid NSW Drivers License, with the ability to drive large cars and/or vans. Australian Police Check, NSW WWCC, and NDIS Worker Check (or willingness to obtain before commencing). A strong set of values that guides your work, aligning with our program and organisational goals of Passion, Integrity, and Respect. Great computer skills with proven technical literacy in Microsoft Office and reporting/customer management systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to communicate clearly and compassionately. Your Responsibilities: Collaborate with customers to develop individualised person-centered recovery plans that incorporate their identified wellbeing needs, strengths, and goals. Provide psychosocial support to improve customer independence, drawing on lived experience to enhance the recovery journey. Support and encourage customers to engage in activities of their choice, including social, leisure, and community connections. Keep customer records up to date on a daily basis using online systems and electronic databases. Develop and maintain professional relationships and networks with customers, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external stakeholders. Support customers to navigate the Medicare Mental Health model of practice and access additional services as required.
