performance-based fire engineering
, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement - providing expert advice from early design through to construction and occupancy.
About the Role
As a Senior Fire Safety Engineer, you will:
* Lead and deliver performance-based fire engineering solutions
* Prepare and review Fire Engineering Reports (FERs) and Alternative Solutions
* Provide expert advice on NCC / BCA compliance, fire safety systems, and risk mitigation
* Engage with approval authorities, certifiers, architects, and project teams
* Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical excellence across the business
* Review fire safety designs for commercial, residential, mixed-use, healthcare, and industrial projects
* Attend design meetings and provide authoritative guidance through all project stages
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* Minimum 10 years' experience
in fire safety engineering or fire engineering consulting
* Strong expertise in
NCC / BCA
, performance-based design, and Alternative Solutions
* Proven experience delivering
complex building projects
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Confidence dealing with regulators, fire authorities, and senior stakeholders
* Ability to work autonomously while contributing to a collaborative team environment
* Tertiary qualification in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
Highly regarded:
* CPEng, RPEQ, or working toward professional accreditation
* Experience mentoring or leading engineers
* Exposure to large-scale or technically challenging developments
