Accounts Officer

You will work closely with engineers, project teams and leadership while managing invoicing, collections and debtor processes that directly support project delivery.

The Opportunity
As an Accounts Officer, you will take a hands-on role in supporting accounts receivable across multiple offices in Australia. (No NZ for this role)
This role is ideal for someone who wants to step beyond basic processing and take ownership of invoicing, collections, and debtor management within a team environment for a fast-moving consulting environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, collections and debtor control
* Assist in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, including correct fee allocation
* Proactively follow up outstanding debtors and support debt recovery activities
* Maintain effective debtor management processes to improve cash flow
* Build strong stakeholder relationships to resolve account queries
* Raise and manage credit notes and adjustments
* Perform monthly reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
* Support expense reconciliation and finance administration
* Maintain accurate financial records and document control
* Ensure compliance with GST requirements and company procedures
About You
We are looking for someone who takes ownership of their work and thrives in a structured, professional environment.
You will ideally have:
* 4+ years experience in a similar accounts receivable or finance role
* Strong understanding of Chart of Accounts and GST
* Experience using XERO and Microsoft Office (including Excel)
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Strong time management and organisational skills
* Confident communication skills and ability to follow up effectively
* Ability to work both autonomously and within a team
* A proactive attitude with reliability and accountability
