Bushfire brigade volunteers play a vital role in helping
keep their local communities safe.The Maintenance & Equipment Officer supports brigade
operations by ensuring vehicles, equipment, and the fire station are well
maintained and ready to support emergency response activities.Working alongside brigade members, this role helps maintain
the brigades operational readiness and contributes to a safe and organised
station environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Supporting the maintenance and operational
readiness of brigade vehicles and equipment
* Assisting with the general upkeep and
presentation of the fire station and grounds
* Helping maintain stores, equipment and
consumables used by the brigade
* Working collaboratively with brigade members to
support emergency preparedness
**Key Tasks**
* Conducting routine vehicle checks on
brigade fire trucks
* Monthly testing of the Automatic Vehicle
Location (AVL) system
* Ensuring vehicles are clean, stocked, and ready
for deployment
* Assisting with equipment care and organisation
within the station
* Occasional scanning or submission of documents
to the Shire
* Maintaining the fire station grounds and general
facilities
* Supporting stock control of unit stores and
consumables
* Liaising with Shire contractors when access to
the station is required
_There is also the opportunity to progress into an
operational firefighter role in the future if desired, with full training and
support provided. _
