About the Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you'll work alongside skilled and motivated Operations team mates to assist with the management of people and assets of our company. Based in Ballarat (or Derrimut) this full-time position is central to ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient delivery of client projects across Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
* Coordinate assets (people/trailers/prime movers) through operations
* Manage real-time awareness of assets
* Provide accurate & timely updates to operations team
* Directly and indirectly supervise drivers
* Ensure driver timesheet and job record compliance; start/ finish times, yard duties.
* Ensure driver compliance through maintenance of assets/ equipment
* Ensure driver load accurately & safely toward an efficient day.
* Train /onboard new drivers with support from Safety/HR Managers
* Manage sub-contractor arrangements and compliance
* Contribute to process improvements
* Liaise with Permit Manager in order to manage routes for better logistics, help design more efficient and give direction to drivers with updates
* Analyze expenditures and other financial information to develop plans, policies, or budgets for increasing profits and improving services
* Develop systemized operations system for drivers
* Ensure compliance with transport-related administrative policies, fatigue, log-book compliance, procedures, safety rules and legislation
* Maintain knowledge of NHVR regulations and share with drivers to;
* Minimise unbillable hours for drivers through better utilisation and planning
* Implement change and safety initiatives
* Administer performance and site audits
* Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending safety briefings, meet with individual drivers
* Collaborate with other managers or staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, or objectives.
