Located in South Bowenfels, the Lithgow Campus is considered as a comprehensive community health centre supporting approximately 20,000 people living in the town and surrounding areas. The services available in Lithgow hospital include Domiciliary care unit, Emergency department, Geriatric assessment unit, Obstetric services, Paediatric service, Drug and Alcohol unit.

Join Lithgow Hospital on a permanent part-time opportunity as a Clinical Midwifery Educator, a cornerstone leadership role within our dedicated maternity team. This position plays a vital part in shaping the capabilities and confidence of our midwifery workforce through education, training, and ongoing support.

As Clinical Midwifery Educator, you'll be responsible for identifying learning needs, developing targeted programs, and delivering meaningful clinical education at the ward level. While your primary focus will be mentoring and training, direct clinical care is reserved for emergency circumstances only serving as a model for best-practice care.

What you will bring to the role

- Current registration to practice as a Midwife with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Relevant clinical/education post registration qualification/s
- Recent extensive clinical experience in healthcare setting
- Demonstrated ability to identify learning needs and to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate education
- Highly developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work in a consultative manner
- Demonstrated previous experience in clinical teaching, mentoring and/or preceptorship
- Demonstrated capacity to work effectively in a team environment
- Commitment to working with NUM/MUM to establish and maintain a learning environment that values and encourages reflective practice
