Role Purpose
The key purpose of the Senior Financial Accountant is to support the External Reporting team in delivering the statutory reporting obligations of the Vicinity Group. The position is responsible for monthly consolidation, preparation of half‐yearly financial statements, and contribution to activities related to Audit Committee papers. The role operates within a fast‐paced, collaborative finance environment and requires a high level of attention to detail and technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Vicinity's external reporting. You'll take ownership of critical month‐end and consolidation processes, support the preparation of half‐yearly and annual financial statements, and contribute to Audit Committee reporting and engagement with senior stakeholders.
Your ability to apply technical accounting expertise, navigate complex structures or transactions, and collaborate effectively across the business will be essential to your success.
Financial Reporting
* Prepare Vicinity's consolidated financial statements in accordance with the Corporations Act 2001 and AASB standards.
* Partner with teams across the business to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial information.
* Support the preparation of Audit Committee papers and other senior management reports.
* Liaise with external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate responses to queries.
* Support additional statutory reporting requirements including Periodic Statements, ABS Surveys, AFSL, and Tax Transparency Reporting.
Financial Accounting & Control
* Manage the Trusts' ledgers and lead all associated reconciliation activities (monthly, quarterly, six‐monthly).
* Oversee key technical accounting processes including investment property revaluations, derivative fair value adjustments and interest‐bearing liability movements.
* Lead the monthly consolidation process, ensuring accurate elimination of intercompany transactions and preparation of consolidation journals.
* Support the development, maintenance, and consistent application of Vicinity's accounting policies and frameworks.
* Identify and implement opportunities to streamline processes and enhance financial systems.
* Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures and technical documentation.
Other Projects & Initiatives
* Contribute to ad‐hoc projects and systems/process improvement initiatives across the Finance function.

About You
You will bring a blend of technical expertise, sound judgement, clear communication skills, and a proactive, ownership‐driven mindset.
Essential Experience
* Experience in financial reporting for a large, complex ASX‐listed organisation; A‐REIT experience is highly regarded.
* Strong background in consolidated reporting, stapled structures, trusts, and statutory reporting requirements is desirable.
* Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* CA or CPA qualified.
Critical Knowledge
* Proficiency with financial systems (JDE, Hyperion, Anaplan highly valued).
* Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
* Strong working knowledge of Australian reporting requirements and AASB standards.
