**Job Description:**
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety, Training & Risk Coordinator to join our team. This pivotal role is responsible for promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring legislative compliance, coordinating workforce training, and supporting effective risk management across the Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP).
Key Responsibilities include:
* Provide daily health and safety support and coaching to CHPP crews and leaders.
* Ensure compliance with QLD Coal Mining Safety & Health legislation and site SHMS.
* Assist in development and implementation of CHPP procedures, JHAs and SWIs.
* Conduct safety inspections, support audits, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
* Participate in incident investigations and follow through on corrective actions.
* Maintain CHPP training and competency records in line with legislative requirements.
* Coordinate inductions, VOCs, and refresher training based on the CHPP training matrix.
* Liaise with RTOs and training providers to ensure compliance and standards are met.
* Support CHPP-related risk assessments and the maintenance of the risk register.
* Facilitate implementation and verification of risk controls in the field.
* Coordinate emergency response plans and support emergency drills.
* Provide first aid support and maintain CHPP first aid supplies and readiness.
* Conduct Drug & Alcohol testing in line with company protocols.
About You:
* Previous ERT or emergency services background highly regarded.
* Strong safety background with experience in heavy industry, preferably coal mining.
* Sound understanding of SHMS, risk management systems, investigations, and compliance databases.
* Excellent communication and coaching skills with a proactive, team-based mindset.
* Advanced computer skills including MS Office and safety management systems.
* Willingness to participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) training.
* TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training & Assessment highly regarded.
* Internal Auditor qualifications highly regarded.
* Advanced First Aid, O2 therapy, pain management highly regarded.
* Emergency response or APRA accreditation highly regarded.
