The Role
The successful applicant will perform basic gardener duties and maintain and present the school grounds, gardens and sporting areas in a clean and tidy condition, providing a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management. You will maintain tools and horticultural equipment in a serviceable condition and perform minor repairs and maintenance in accordance with the Department's policies and guidelines. You will also monitor and maintain the reticulation systems and the formal and informal sports grounds, using safe work practices and keeping accurate gardening records.

Eligibility
* Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of appointment.
* Consent to and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.
* Obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check.
* Complete introductory School Gardener training within 3 months of commencement in metropolitan areas or as soon as practicable for regional areas.
* Complete the Department's training in Accountable and Ethical Decision‐Making within six months of appointment.
