Job Description
We seek a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Nurse – Primary Care professional to join our team. As a key member of the multidisciplinary healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and delivering high-quality primary healthcare services to a prison population of approximately 1500 inmates.
As a Senior Nurse in the Primary Care team, you will work closely with other healthcare professionals to deliver quality services, provide expert guidance and mentorship, and ensure that best practice standards are maintained. You will also be responsible for supporting clinical assessments, care planning, and discharge processes, as well as assisting in risk assessments and harm minimisation strategies.
The ideal candidate will have significant leadership experience and a strong ability to mentor and guide their team. They will possess excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset that fosters teamwork and innovation.

Responsibilities include:
* Coordinating and managing the provision of primary healthcare services to inmates

* Assisting in risk assessments and harm minimisation strategies
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse – Division 1 with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulatory Agency (AHPRA)
* Strong clinical assessment, care planning, and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of quality improvement and evidence-based practice in healthcare
* Experience working in a primary nursing setting, ideally within a forensic or correctional environment
* Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to manage and mentor a multidisciplinary team
* A commitment to ongoing personal and professional development
