About the Role
The Grounds and Maintenance Officer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the school environment is safe, clean, and efficient. Key responsibilities include:
* Maintaining classrooms, offices, and communal spaces to a high standard.
* Carrying out repairs and preventative maintenance to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of equipment.
* Managing waste effectively to reduce environmental impact and maintain a healthy working environment.
* Ensuring outdoor areas, including gardens, sports fields, and playgrounds, are well-maintained and safe for students and staff.
* Monitoring equipment and responding promptly to issues to minimize disruption to daily operations.
The role also involves coordinating with contractors when specialist work is required to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. By maintaining high standards across the school environment, the Grounds and Maintenance Officer supports the wellbeing of the community and contributes to a positive learning atmosphere.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:
* A NSW Working with Children's Check (WWCC) registration.
* Qualifications relevant to the position, such as a trade certificate or equivalent experience.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with colleagues, students, and external contractors.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve common goals.
