Job Description
The Senior Developer takes a lead role inrequirement analysis, development, maintenance and enhancement ofapplications in accordance with enterprise architecture principles and the ITStrategy to support AEMO energy market operator functions:
Engage with business users when designing systems,managing their expectations, and understanding;
Analyse, design and develop software programmingsolutions for major projects and periodic releases;
Organise and participate in requirements and designmeetings to contribute to improved project design that includes peer reviewand team discussions;
Promote, contribute towards and action appropriateand supportable processes with sufficient audit trail for:
Reliable software operation and service delivery;
System design and development;
Continuous improvement of development methods,software, tools and processes;
Release and test management processes; and
Understanding of business logic.
Ensure applications and processes operate and meetagreed service and security levels by good design and implementation;
Follow AEMO policies in the area of security,enterprise architecture principles and development process standards;
Document and direct staff (which may include otherthird -parties) to deliver on time and on budget, including estimation andtracking;
Maintain strong working AEMO business knowledgeapplicable to application support and development tasks;
Provide effective reporting to ensure AEMOleadership is informed and aware of relevant key issues and considerationsthat affect the service delivery, reputation and performance;
Participate in and contribute to theidentification, reporting, assessment and management of risk.
Job Qualification; Software development in missioncritical IT projects, especially high availability systems;
Demonstrated experience with:
Microsoft technologies (e.g. C# / .Net/ ASP.Net);
Test tools (e.g.: SOAP UI, JIRA, Selenium);
Strong technical skills in areas such as logic,user interfaces, data modelling and work flow and translating it into clear& concise technical specifications and design;
Experience in using build and source control tools,continuous build and deployment using automation techniques, use of unit testautomation and test harnesses;
Ability to effectively collaborate with other teammembers, proactively share knowledge, information, and solutions to problems;
Demonstrated ability to maintain a high degree oforganisation, coordination and communication with attention to detail andaccuracy;
