About the Role:
The successful applicant will be responsible for assessing and managing neurosurgical patients, participating in theatre sessions, and conducting research and professional development activities. A passion for rural and regional healthcare is essential, as well as a commitment to ongoing education and training.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assess and manage neurosurgical patients referred from the Emergency Department, working closely with consultants and junior medical staff.
* Participate in the operating theatre and departmental roster to ensure seamless service delivery.
* Conduct research, peer review practices, continued medical education, and provide supervision to junior medical staff and other clinical staff.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Hold a Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons or equivalent.
* Demonstrated experience applicable to Neurosurgery and a passion for rural, regional and Aboriginal healthcare.
