This role facilitates high-quality patient care across health centres in the Miwatj region through Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities. The position involves collaborating with clinical staff to implement and oversee quality improvement initiatives, data management, and clinical governance systems. The goal is to enhance health outcomes by employing methods such as clinical audits, process mapping, and systems assessments, ensuring that services are continuously improved and aligned with best practices.

About Miwatj
Miwatj Health is an independent Aboriginal Community-Controlled Health Service. Established in 1992, we’re committed to securing quality health care services across the East Arnhem and enabling Yolŋu powered community health and wellbeing. Miwatj provides culturally appropriate, comprehensive primary health care to over 6,000 remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander residents across 3 East Arnhem wards. With a Head Office in Nhulunbuy, Miwatj also manages a Corporate Office in Darwin, 7 fixed clinics across the East Arnhem region, and dedicated outreach teams who travel to 3 additional locations.
Essential Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination, along with an understanding of the challenges faced by Yolngu people in remote settings. Candidates should possess the ability to motivate staff and facilitate change in a high-pressure, culturally diverse environment. Experience in CQI management, accreditation processes, and the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal communities are essential. Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills are also required, as well as a willingness to travel frequently to remote communities.
