About the Role
As the Leading Hand in the Fabrication workshop, you will lead a team of boilermakers and welders while remaining hands-on with fabrication work. You’ll work closely with supervisors and production teams to deliver projects safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate a team of fabricators, welders, and apprentices
- Allocate daily tasks and monitor progress against production schedules
- Provide hands-on support in heavy fabrication and welding
- Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
- Mentor and train apprentices and team members
- Collaborate across departments to ensure smooth project delivery
About You
- Australian recognised trade certificate in Fabrication/Boilermaking
- Experience in a Leading Hand, Team Leader, or Senior Fabricator role
- Strong skills in heavy fabrication, welding, and interpreting technical drawings
- Experience in trailer, truck body, or heavy equipment manufacturing (highly regarded)
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and motivate a team
- Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety
- Proactive, reliable, and safety-focused attitude
