Your new role
As the Manager of Family and Community Counselling Services, you will collaborate with management and staff to ensure that services are delivered consistently and meet the contractual obligations outlined in the Service Agreements. You will oversee the development, delivery, and reporting of the Family and Community Counselling Service and the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), manage program staff, and ensure they are supported and effective in their roles. Additionally, you will coordinate contracts and service delivery related to the EAP Program and facilitate contract negotiations with funding suppliers and external contractors.
The key responsibilities for this role are as follows:
Work collaboratively with management and staff towards best practices with services delivered to ensure consistency of service delivery and contractual obligations set out in the Service Agreements.
* Be responsible for service direction, development and delivery of the Family and Community Counselling Service (FCCS), and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Contracts procurement and management.
* Build the organisation's contract and subcontract profile.
* Play a pivotal role in reporting to the Department of Social Services, the Attorney General's Department, and our External contractors.
* Previous experience of leading a team of professionals in delivering Employee Assistance Programs to organisations.
* The ability to jump in and assist the team in the day-to-day services.
* Facilitate stakeholder meetings.
What you'll need to succeed
* A degree in Social Sciences, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences, or equivalent qualifications and experience.
* Over 5 years of experience in managing social or community services, with the ability to serve as an accredited Family and Relationship Counsellor under the Family Law Act (1975).
* Proficiency in supporting, guiding, and managing staff in remote areas, with a focus on collaborative service delivery across the Townsville and Mount Isa regions, adhering to Departmental requirements.
* Demonstrated expertise in program and team management, including proactive performance management and support methods.
* Extensive knowledge and experience in governance reporting responsibilities and timelines.
* Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, particularly the Family Law Act, and service delivery aspects related to FCCS, including Family Violence.
* Experience in creating, implementing, and assessing program business/operational plans.
* Ability to cultivate a values-driven team environment, fostering a positive team culture across a geographically diverse area.
* A valid driving licence.
* Current, and ability to maintain, both a Working with Children Blue Card and Disability Services Clearance/Check/Card.

In return, you will receive a competitive salary, ranging between $115,065.00 - $119,871.00 depending on prior experience, salary-sacrificing opportunities, and 5 weeks of annual leave + 17.5% leave loading.
