Venue Manager – The Whippet Club (Leederville)

Type: Full-time / Part-time (flexible for the right person)
The Whippet Club is a vibrant bar & events venue in the heart of Leederville, and we're looking for an experienced Venue Manager to lead operations and plan an exciting year-round calendar of sports and events.
About the Role
You'll be responsible for managing day-to-day venue operations while strategically building and executing a strong events calendar — from live sports and themed nights to private functions and community events.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, curate, and manage the annual sports & events calendar
* Coordinate live sports events (e.g. major sporting finals, Super Bowl, tournaments)
* Develop and deliver non-sporting events (DJ nights, themed parties, live music, activations)
* Oversee daily venue operations, staffing, and service standards
* Manage staff rosters, training, and performance
* Liaise with promoters, DJs, suppliers, and partners
* Ensure compliance with RSA, licensing, and venue regulations
* Drive venue growth through creative programming and strong customer experience
What We're Looking For
* Proven experience as a Venue Manager, Bar Manager, or similar role
* Strong background in event planning and promotions
* Passion for live sports, nightlife, and hospitality
* Excellent leadership and organisational skills
* Confident with budgets, rostering, and forecasting
* Hands-on, proactive, and ideas-driven
* RSA & Approved Manager (or willingness to obtain)
