Senior Program Manager Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Program Manager to lead a major program replacing legacy systems supporting our residential aged care business. This position will be responsible for planning and delivering the program, working closely with vendors to ensure key outcomes.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management methodologies, tools, and practices, with experience delivering business transformation projects. They will also possess excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
Job Requirements
* Manage the program and related projects from end-to-end to achieve project outcomes and benefits identified
* Facilitate and support workshops, with a broad cross-section of stakeholders including project working groups, testing, and training requirements
* Review deliverability of resourcing, governance, procedures and financial estimates
* Work with business, ICT and vendor leads to establish staffing to support the program and adjust as needed throughout the implementation
* Perform project control activities necessary for executing a large and complex program, including documenting scope and approach, creating and maintaining detailed project plans, and status reports
* Establishes performance outcomes and measures for key project goals and defines monitoring, status reporting and communication requirements
* Monitor progress; identify issues and complete regular progress reports to stakeholders
* Identify and manage risk, issues and opportunities; apply mitigation/realisation strategies to minimise impact and consequences
* Work collaboratively with the business to identify improved productivity, efficiency and cost reduction opportunities
* Provide advice and guidance regarding the best use of new products enabling the business to maximise efficiency and effectiveness to improve service delivery
* Lead, develop and promote a culture of continuous improvement which empowers staff to think innovatively and to challenge the status quo
* Display an in-depth knowledge of technology and systems relevant to own work to meet service delivery expectations
* Resolve and or contribute to resolving project related problems
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Minimum 3 years' experience in a Program Manager or Business Transformation role using project management methodologies, tools, and practices
* Relevant experience delivering business transformation projects (essential), and within the aged or healthcare industry (desired)
* Ability to both scope and lead a complex enterprise-wide project from definition to deployment and post go-live support
* Experience working within a large and complex program, including vendor-led implementations
* Demonstrated experience implementing, enhancing, and upgrading commercial off the shelf software (COTS) and related technologies
* Experience in business case development, planning all aspects, developing plans, schedules, budgets, scope, managing issues & risks and monitoring & reporting.
* Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies and techniques i.e., PMBOK, Prince2, Agile
* Evidence of the ability to embed change and realise project benefits
* Background in IT systems support, training, systems testing, go live and roll outs
* Strong communication skills and the confidence to relate effectively to a range of stakeholders
* Confident in working in a complex organisation and building relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders and service delivery partners
