Role Description
The Transport Group (the Group) promotes and enables the safe, reliable and efficient transport of people and goods, to connect Tasmanian communities, promote freight efficiency and growth in the Tasmanian economy, and improve the visitor experience.
The Transport Delivery and Assets Division is one of several divisions within the Group. The division provides strategic leadership and direction in the management, development, and delivery of transport infrastructure and assets across Tasmania. This role ensures the efficient and sustainable planning, maintenance, and enhancement of transport assets to support community connectivity, economic growth, and environmental sustainability.
The General Manager oversees the delivery of transport projects and programs and the maintenance of the State’s transport assets, ensuring they align with government priorities and deliver value for the community
Under the Group’s delivery model, Transport Delivery and Assets works seamlessly and collaboratively with the other areas within the Group to contribute to the overall objectives of the Transport Group.
Duties
* Develop and oversee the implementation of asset management strategies to ensure the sustainability, reliability, and efficiency of Tasmania’s transport infrastructure. This includes monitoring asset performance and prioritising maintenance and upgrades to maximise their lifecycle value and community benefits
* Provide leadership in planning, designing and executing strategic transport projects ensuring they align with strategic objectives and community needs. Oversee the effective management of resources, budgets, and timelines to deliver projects on schedule, within scope, and to high-quality standards.
* Drive the execution of strategic transport initiatives, ensuring alignment with government priorities and measurable community benefits. Leverage innovation and emerging technologies to enhance project outcomes and support future-ready infrastructure solutions.
