Our network is growing across Caboolture, Morayfield, Strathpine, Deception Bay, and Margate – now there's an opportunity for you to be part of a great team making a real difference in people's lives.**About the role**As a Counsellor, you will provide culturally appropriate community based and clinic based counselling, in the areas of alcohol and other drugs and mental health to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients across the North Brisbane region.Your day to day duties may include:* Undertake comprehensive assessment of clients' mental health and alcohol and other drug issues, as well as their wider psychosocial needs and situation, and create individual treatment plans within a recovery-oriented framework.* Provide targeted solution focused counselling and support to clients through outreach and community based service delivery.* Monitor and contribute to the development of clinical practices, outcomes, procedures and protocols within the Social Health program and across the service.* Provide evidence based individual and family counselling/support to people with alcohol and other drug challenges.* Actively engage the local community and work flexibly in response to client (and family) needs by undertaking outreach services and accessing other support pathways as applicable to the clients care/support.
