IFYS Foster and Kinship Care Sunshine Coast has an exciting opportunity for a Foster and Kinship Care Coordinator to join the team.
As a Foster and Kinship Care Coordinator you will provide developmental and trauma informed support and supervision for children and carers within the child protections system.

Responsibilities of the role:
* Support the recruitment, training and screening of Foster Care applicants
* Complete assessments of foster and kinship carers capacity to meet standards of care, report findings to Child Safety
* Support carers to provide ongoing care that is emotionally and physically safe, developmentally appropriate, nurturing and engaging to foster growth and resilience
* Meet all compliance requirements set by Child Safety for HSQF licensing purposes
* Provide support to children in regard to placements, targeting specific issues through appropriate therapeutic interventions relevant for their care plan
* Conduct assessments and developing individual care plans for each child in care in collaboration with key stakeholders
* Conduct home visits for all families, with additional ongoing regular email, phone, and in-person support
* Support families and children to develop natural links and connections with their family and community
* Create and develop functional links with community organisations, professional services, alternate care networks
* Take part in the on-call services and attend community events to recruit carers
Requirements for the role:
* Professional experience working with children and families in a therapeutic environment
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology or a related field required
* Exceptional time management and prioritisation skills
* Understanding of child protection and statutory intervention services
* Demonstrated knowledge of strengths-based and client-centred practice
* Well-developed communication skills, including report writing
Must hold or be willing to obtain if successful:
* Valid Queensland driver's license with no restrictions
* QLD Working with Children Check (Paid Blue Card)
* Licensed Care Suitability Check (LCS2)
* National Crime Check (IFYS will complete a new check through our systems)
* Ability to provide two recent line manager references (including your current employer)
