Sunrise Health Service Aboriginal Corporation (SHSAC) is an Aboriginal community-controlled health organisation delivering culturally safe, comprehensive primary health care across nine remote communities in the Katherine East region of the Northern Territory.

The Opportunity
Join our team as a dedicated Women's Health Coordinator, based in Katherine with regular travel to Sunrise communities.
In this key role, you'll support clinic teams and enhance the delivery of women's health services in remote Aboriginal communities.
You'll contribute to antenatal and postnatal care, women's health checks, sexual health, population screening, and support for mothers, babies, and young children—building local capacity and improving health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Provide antenatal and postnatal midwifery care and women's health checks
Deliver health promotion and screening programs (breast, cervical, sexual health, annual checks)
Support and mentor staff in cervical screening, contraception, antenatal and postnatal care
Monitor quality of women's health and sexual health services across Sunrise clinics
Collaborate with external maternal health providers and internal outreach teams
Ensure Communicare templates are up to date and reflect best practice
Use clinical data to monitor and improve service delivery at a population level
Lead or contribute to Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities
Contribute to data collection, reporting, and audits
What You'll Bring
Registered Nurse/ Midwife with current AHPRA registration
Current unrestricted manual driver's licence
Current First Aid Certificate
National Criminal History Check (clear)
NT Working with Children (Ochre) Card
Acceptable vaccination status for working with vulnerable people
Full working rights in Australia
Desirable
Experience in maternal health, women's health, or Aboriginal health settings
Ability to mentor, train, and build capacity in clinical teams
Familiarity with Communicare or ability to quickly upskill
Strong understanding of Primary Health Care principles in a remote context
Highly Regarded
Experience in Aboriginal health settings, capacity building, and remote service delivery.
