Senior Accountant - Permanent Full Time
This position plays a key role in the delivery of the Corporate Services functions across CBS. The Senior Accountant contributes to the development and execution of CBS's Finance and Corporate Services Strategic Plans to ensure the Finance function supports the achievement of strategic and operational objectives. This includes increasing organisational efficiencies and capability; development and improvement of Finance systems, processes and resources; implementation of systems and platforms that provide oversight on the online environment as it relates to the Finance functions (such as Client Management and Internal Reporting); and relevant routine reporting such as Executive, Board and Audit reports. The position provides leadership and mentoring across the Corporate Services team.
Key responsibilities:
* Management of the monthly financial close processes. This includes - recording all costs, allocation of revenue, approving journal entries, balance sheet and payroll account reconciliations
* Ensure accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, BAS and cash receipting occur in an accurate and timely manner
* Supporting the Payroll function by undertaking ad hoc bank transfers, accessing payroll reports to complete payroll journals and other banking support as required
* Manage the flow of operational data and develop a framework to identify and analyse variances across all key operational functions
* Lead a small team of accounts roles including the provision of support, technical expertise, feedback and continuous improvement.
* Lead through a client-focused approach that works collaboratively with internal and external CBS stakeholders.
* Responsible for ensuring all Finance systems are effective and efficient and contribute to their appropriate integration with other systems and platforms.
* Responsible for finance-related data and reporting in other CBS systems.
* Identify improvement opportunities in current business practices, strategies and systems and support the implementation of improvement solutions.
* Consult with internal stakeholders on improvement solutions, troubleshooting, system upgrades etc. to ensure improved business practices align with client outcomes.
* Participate in the recruitment, induction, onboarding, performance management and development of the Corporate Services team, including utilising a motivational leadership and management style to drive strong culture across the Corporate Services and CBS teams.

What you bring:
* Bachelor of Accounting, Business, Commerce, Finance or similar.
* CPA / CA recognised within Australia.
* Experience in mentoring or leading individuals or small team.
* Experience in managing the capture and flow of data between multiple and complex systems.
* Current Working with Vulnerable People Registration with NDIS endorsement (or ability to obtain).
* A National Police Check that is no older than 3 months (or ability to obtain).
