Exciting Opportunity: Principal Azure Cloud Engineer - Financial Services

Salary: $165K - $210K package (including super)
This exciting new Azure Cloud role is due to company growth. You will provide cloud infra services, working on Azure cloud projects across Australia and maintain Azure platform for Australia. With a focus on Azure platform improvement, IaC code, DevOps. Tech-forward leader needed for cloud native services & automation. Solve complex design & engineering challenges. Ideally there is a strong preference for Strong preference for expertise within IAM, including SSO, authentication, and access controls ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IAM systems and data.
Projects include: Cloud migration from SQL Database, Cost optimisation, Key projects supporting and building Azure platforms for data teams, Cloud DevSecOps security project, focus on enhancing Identity Access management.
Responsibilities:
1. Deploy Azure workloads with Terraform, ARM/Bicep in DevOps
2. Develop pipelines in and out of Data Lake using Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
3. Develop and maintain monitoring tools
4. Apply security principles across Azure cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
5. Hands-on development, testing, and review of designs
6. Advise on tech implementation and potential debt working cost optismation projects
7. Security and DevSecOps projects
8. Collaborate with tech teams, architects, and project managers
9. Provide input, guide engineers in detailed design
10. Develop solution and functional documentation
11. Diagnose and fix production issues
12. Contribute to system improvement and automation
13. Design tech solutions with DevOps
Required Capabilities & Experience:
14. Experience medium to large IT environments
15. Experience with Azure Public Cloud, IaaS, PaaS
16. Experience with DevOps or DevSecOps strategies
17. Hands-on deployment and infrastructure building in Azure using Azure DevOps CI/CD
18. Deep understanding of Azure IaaS, PaaS, and application hosting
19. Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting languages
20. Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and ARM templates
21. Knowledge of container frameworks (Docker, K8s, AKS)
22. Expertise in running IaaS, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor
23. Strong preference for expertise within IAM, including SSO, authentication, and access controls ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IAM systems and data
24. Familiarity with Azure Policies
25. Application development experience and SDLC knowledge (desirable)
26. Deep understanding of cloud security best practices
27. Strong problem-solving skills
28. Ability to explain technical concepts in business terms
29. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
